Favors Desired

First Com­mand­ment (sum­ming up the first three Com­mand­ments on the first tablet):

You Shall Love The Lord Your God With All Of Your Heart, Your Mind, and Your Strength.

Our Lord desires us to make a dec­la­ra­tion of depen­dence on Him, as He gives us every breath we take, and, if He should for­get us, we would no longer exist.  There­fore, He desires that we ask Him for every­thing, no mat­ter how big or small for our­selves, first of all.

Sec­ond Com­mand­ment (sum­ming up the last sev­en Com­mand­ments on the sec­ond tablet):

You Shall Love Your Neigh­bor As Yourself.

Then, to show our love for oth­ers, we should ask for favors for them, as well.
